Cute Card Thursday ~ Snips and snails

Apologies for being so late, we were so busy celebrating Thanksgiving I didn't get a minute to get online!
Here is my card for this week, the theme is Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
to create a boys card.
This is one of my favourite Sugar Nellie images for boys, so cool! I need to send my nephew's birthday card early as it is my nieces birthday today and her card hasn't arrived in time! I am gutted, I allowed a week and 2 days and it still didn't make it!
As usual on CCT we have a fantastic prize and the rest of the DT creations are amazing! Hope you find time to play along!
Have a great weekend!

whiff of joy challenge and Papertake Weekly

Love this new Whiff of Joy stamp designed by Elisabeth Bell. Used it on my Whiff of Joy challenge card which was a sketch.
This card is also perfect for the Papertake Weekly challenge which I haven't managed to join in for an age. They want to see your Christmas cards!
This is a versatile stamp and I only decided to make it a christmas card at the last moment when I finally decided on the sentiment!

Sorry I haven't been around visiting lately, busy busy, the holidays are starting today so hopefully I will get some time to drop by over the next few days, so ready for this break as are the kids. We are very excited to be celebrating our first real Thanksgiving this week!

Very Present Helpers
the kitties are so cute and it is a great stamp to paper piece. It is part of the Christmas collection of stamps but as you can see here this one is very versatile!

The theme this week is teen terrors - whilst my image might not depict a teenager they certainly look like cute little terrors! I can just imagine them getting into all kinds of mischief together! I made my card a little more grown up looking though so I think it is suitable for a teenager.

DP ~ Basic Grey 'Sugared'
Flowers ~ Prima
Leaves ~ L-Em punch
Gems ~ Prima

The bread was perfect by the way, just off to make anot
her loaf today! think I have started something I might regret!

Friday Sketchers

have an amazing sketch this week, it seemed a bit different and that always appeals! It was perfect for this sweet CC designs image that Denise sent to me. Thanks so much Denise, you singlehandedly kept me in paper, stamps and images for the middle part of this year! I really appreciate it! It was a traumatic time being parted from my crafty stash for so long and yet now it seems like no time at all, it feels like it went over in the blink of an eye!

I have been on a roll with my cardmaking over the last week, mainly because my youngest 2 had 3 birthday parties to go to on saturday so I had to become a cardmaking machine! I also wanted to get a load sent to the Uk along with pressies etc Got a few more xmas cards to make then I can start on some gifts. Hoping to rope in the eldest with some colouring etc as she is complaining she needs a hobby!

Have a great day!

Stamp Something ~ sketch something

HOw cute is this little bug?

I followed the sketch over at

Love the sketch, very versatile! the image is a High Hopes stamp as is the sentiment. Papers are Basic Grey 'Granola'.

I'm off back to my breadmaking, having to do it the old fashioned way as I left my breadmaker in the UK. Never had much success the old fashioned way I must confess and it is even harder with the high altitude so I am a little nervous of how it will turn out. I will let you know!
have a great afternoon,

Sugar Bowl ~ a Gorjuss sketch

I followed Judy's fabulous sketch over at
for this card.
I used one of my Sugar Nellie 'Gorjuss girls' and the paper is Basic Grey 'Lily Kate'.

flowers are prima.
Another quick post, have to get sorted, ready to decorate our guest room later in the week, so much to do as the holidays approach!
Hope you have a great day!

Truly Scrumptious sketch ~ ski-ing Edwin

Here is my entry for the Truly Scrumptious challenge which was a tricky sketch! You also had to incorporate some texture so I embossed some cardstock with a cuttlebug folder, first time I used it, so glad these challenges make me use my bits and pieces!

I used ski-ing Edwin from Magnolia, he is one of my favourite Edwins, I am sure I will use him lots over this coming winter! the paper is Basic Grey 'Archaic' my fave male papers and the sentiment stamp is Whimsy. The ticket stamp is Inkadinkado.

Cute Card Thursday ~ Primary Colours

This week on Cute Card Thursday you are to use Primary colours!
I had to do Christmas as I don't have any papers that you could say were primary colours!
Even this is stretching it a bit as I should have had blue and not green, yikes!
Hope you can manage to play along, we have a fabulous prize again this week, the fabulous Kim Reid of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is offering one lucky winner the choice of any 3 of her stamps!
I used my sweet 'Miss Clause' from Sugar Nellie, she reminds me of my eldest so this may be her chrissy card! She used to love drawing Manga images when she was a bit younger so it will be a blast from the past for her!
The papers are the fabulous Basic Grey 'Wassail' still one of my favourite xmas papers.
The merry christmas stamp is Cat's Life Press.
The flowers are prima and the buttons and snowflakes are from packs from Roberts.
Feeling all festive this week, don't know why as it has heated up here again, almost hit the 70's yesterday! Snow forecast for the weekend tho', strange old place this!
Happy Bonfire night to those celebrating in the UK!
Keep safe!

Layers of Color ~ Reindeer waltz

I am so looking forward to Christmas over here, can you tell?
This stands like a card but is actually going to be a table decoration telling everyone what they will eat for Christmas Lunch, not that they need telling as we have had the same Christmas lunch for over 20 years!!!
What can I say, I am a creature of habit!

I have used my fabulous Layers of Color Clear Art Stamp Set 'Reindeer Waltz'. I totally love this set! I am going to use it loads this Christmas. The two reindeer are part of the set but I also used parts of the other reindeer to create the inked border around the edges. I was a bit scared at first but love how it turned out! The antlers make fabulous swirls!
I used Basic Grey papers which give it a very elegant look. I am hoping to make matching place cards as our old ones have seen better days, they are about 10 years old! Love them and won't part with them as they come from my cross stitch days but time for a change I think!
don't forget that Layers of Color are having a release party November 14 -15 with lots of fun things going on plus prizes and free digi giveaways!
See here for more details of the release party!

Whimsy Challenge ~ rounding up love for Jaimie

I made this card to send to Jaimie Cates who recently was the victim of a horrific crime. Whimsy Stamps owner Denise and Erin have arranged a fabulous, humongous blog hop and created a special new blog to encourage us all to send a card to Jaimie to help create some hope and lighten the dark days. Many amazing people have taken part in the blog hop and there are a huge amount of prizes! Although I am sure once you read Jaimie's story you will want to send a card no matter what!

To take part in the hop start here at Katharina's blog.

Here is my card for Jaimie and also for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge which is to create a card for Jaimie!
I used my Whimsy Stamps Fall Raccoons, they are such cheeky chaps they are guaranteed to bring a smile!
