Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday!

 My first WOYWW in 2011!
My big project this year is to make a Scrapbook album for my eldest who will turn 18 later this year, I have to make her a This is your Life album just so I will believe it!
I have already shed my first tears at the thought of her graduating High School and going off to college in August!  I just know I am going to be a blubbering wreck at her graduation ceremony in June!
Grabbed these magazines this morning in Wal-mart for some inspiration as it is a while since I did any scrapbooking!

This is the first page I am working on, I loved this hat and coat set, doing this is bringing back so many memories!  I am loving it!
************
Thank you for all the messages re our flooded basement, all dried out now and no real damage so we were lucky!    I am finally taking some time for myself this week, doing a little crafting and sorting through photos etc.  Overdid it on the ski slopes on Sunday so my knee is needing some resting up, good excuse  eh?
Hope you play along with WOYWW this week, if you don't know what it is all about see Julia's blog for details here!

Oh Deb my son has just turned 13 & I am having palpitations about that so I can only imagine what it will be like when he is 18! Lovely to take some time to take a trip down memory lane and look at all the baby photos and make her a wonderful scrapbook that she will treasure forever. Have a wonderful week! Tracey xxx

My baby started a new school at the beginning of the year - as a teacher! It feels like yesterday she went to grade 1 and now she's teaching grade11's.
Your project is going to be bittersweet, but so worth it in the end.

Love the idea of a This Is Your Life Scrapbook for her, make sure you embarrass her, it's what parents are supposed to do!! Definitely need to rest that knee!!

I cried and cried throughout my daughter's senior year in high school. I had major empty nest just thinking about her going off to college. It was really tough, so I understand what you're going through. And your work is beautiful, btw! :)

Think of all the love you are reliving doing this. I about went...my new word this week, learned it on WOYWW...nutters when I put together a scrap book for my son for his wedding then I got to thinking my DDIL didn't have anyone to make her up one so I did it too. I emailed her sister and got pictures and stories to journal. Birth to engagement in one head of hair(I pulled it all out) but it was 2 nice memory books. forgot to say...I don't scrap book much!

Lovely project, you'll not be the only one shedding a tear or two! They grow up too fast, don't they? I'll have a teenager in my house this year and am finding that hard to believe :)
Hugs,
Anne

Both ours have left home a long time ago. We get the grandchildren coming back now, which is good as you can hand them back. I am sure that album will make a wonderful book of memories for the future. Lovely photos.

Hopefully you will be able to give it to her when it is done. It may be hard to let it go...
