Scrapbook Steals Opal 4

Here is my entry to ScrapbookSteals blog challenge Opal 4
this week was a double page layout which took a little more time although having the fabulous sketch made it a lot quicker! It is always the embellishments that take the most time for me!
If you haven't found Scrapbook Steals yet you should really take a look, you will find twice daily bargains in all your favourite products!
I stalk them every day at 9am!
The papers I used here are Bo Bunny ' Winter Joy' a pack I got from Scrapbook Steals for a song!
There is a new sketch every Wednesday over on the Scrapbook Steals blog.  Can you imagine my surprise last week when I went to check out the new sketch and discovered I won a prize from the week before!
Thank you so much Kristy, my prize arrived this weekend and I love it, already planning some new makes with it!

The happy birthday stamp is from Whimsy Stamps and the so special to me is from a little clear stamp package by Studio G.
The papers are Basic Grey 'Oliver'
The little cutie is coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.

So hope you can play along this week.  Pop over to CCT to check out the rest of the Design Teams superb creations and grab some inspiration!

WOYWW

Wow, Wednesday came around so quickly this week!  Can't believe it is almost Halloween!
It has turned very cold here overnight, below freezing and it is trying to snow just now!  thankfully nothing much is expected to come of it!  I really don't want to trudge around in snow for Halloween!
The Halloween party is looming so I have been busy preparing the party bags and have even set up the table!  I will hold off putting the food on though, although I do want it to look disgusting I don't really want real mo(u)ld on there!

Can't wait to have a nosey at the other desks, if you aren't familiar with WOYWW pop on over to Julia's blog to find out what it is all about!

Opal 3

 My Opal club entry.
I only just became aware of the challenges over on the Scrapbook Steals blog while away at the retreat.  There is a sketch every Wednesday to be completed by Monday.
I picked up these papers at Scrapbook Steals last week, they are part of the Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends collage kit.  They are so vintagey, right up my street!
I used my Tim Holtz mini paper rosettes die and just love how they worked with these papers, they are so pretty!
The hearts are a Stampin Up punch.  The seam binding and eyelet are also Stampin Up.
The quotes were on a sheet in the collage kit too.
Thanks for dropping in, have a great weekend!

not my CCT card!

This is not my Cute Card Thursday creation, unfortunately I didn't find time to make my
Sorry card for this week's theme, so Sorry!!!
We are sponsored by Meljen's Designs this week, she is offering 4 of her fabulous digi images!
**********
Instead I will show you another make from the retreat I attended at the weekend!
This was the Fancy Pants class!

We were given instructions to cover the front side of every page only so I went ahead in our free crop time to cover both sides.  Seemed a shame not to!
the papers are so cute! they are Saint Nick!
I stopped myself adding any more letters as I want to add photos underneath them, hope they will come off!
I started looking for photos to complete this believe it or not, then realized I wouldn't be able to seeing as Christmas 2011 hadn't happened yet!
I look forward to finishing it in January!
thanks for dropping in, have a great day!

Scrapbook retreat!

What an amazing weekend that was!
I haven't quite come back to reality!  I attended my second ever scrapbooking retreat only 4 months after attending my first - I feel so lucky!
This one was organized by the very lovely Lisa and Kristy at Scrapbook Steals.
If you haven't seen the store yet, you really must check it out and sign up for daily emails, they have daily deals that are quite literally a steal!
We left on Friday morning and met up with the rest of the scrappers at the hotel to then be taken to the fabulous Scrapbook Steal Network store and warehouse in Salt Lake City.
We got to shop (lots of delicious and hugely discounted goodies) and then tour the warehouse and meet the lovely people who own and work there!
After lunch we had 3 back to back classes, Fancy Pants with Dan, Authentique with Melodee and Teresa Collins.  Incredibly, we actually had Teresa Collins teach the class, she is one amazing lady.  I swear she could have told us to stick price tags on a paper bag and we would have still loved the class!  Anyway, she didn't, she gave us a beautiful Christmas layout to create and then offered us another freebie to work on later!  I chose a Christmas album that I can't wait to start on!
****
The above layout came from a My Mind's Eye pack called Blackbird. KC from My Minds Eye came along to the retreat and challenged us to finish a layout by Monday so here it is!
I will have lots more to share from the retreat soon, some are not quite complete yet!!!

Hope you all had just as fabulous weekend, thanks for dropping in!

I am late posting my work desk today.  Actually took this photo yesterday knowing I would be out today but didn't get around to scheduling anyway!
I had a half done layout sitting around for a week!  Had to push it aside to work on something else for Halloween.  You can see the end result of these pieces if you come back tomorrow!
I was at my SU class this morning and we made some very cute Halloween treats, love them, will share them soon!

Cute Card Thursday - Time for Cake

A very sweet theme on Cute Card Thursday this week
Time for cake!
This week we are sponsored by The Stamp Shoppe
Very simple one from me  as I have been fighting a virus all week, a decorated cake box.
I used a Teddy Bea image  along with the Friendship recipe stamp from Lily of the Valley.
I am entering

I have signed up for the distance workshop over at the Creative Cake Academy but haven't got very far as yet. I was hoping to have my first cakes in the box but it didn't happen.
So looking forward to the Christmas themed workshop!

WOYWW and LIM

For once I feel Wednesday came slowly this week, but I think it is because I have been under the weather and not had the energy to do much.  My desk is actually clear at the moment, although I do intend to scrap today so thought I would show my latest bits that I bought.  Hope to get started on these packs later!
These are the new Simple Stories packs, absolutely love everything SS brings out!
Back in August I was lucky enough to win a Simple Stories pack '100 days of summer' and this is what I created with some of it last week (excuse the wonky shot, not used to photographing double paged layouts)
It certainly feels like the end of summer now!  The cold hasn't hit us yet but it is literally around the corner, lots of storminess coming for us in the next couple of days along with the dreaded white stuff - yes, the joy of living in the mountains is it comes early!  still, rather that than rain!
**********
this little goody pack was a freebie along with my buys from Emma's Paperie, they wrap everything up in tissue too, so lovely!
oh and I just happened upon this bargain Bo Bunny kit that I couldn't miss out on!
Time to scrap some Christmas pics I think!
here is a card I struggled with this week
I love the Less is More challenge but it is so out of my comfort zone, not altogether happy with this, it looks so bare!  The good thing about these cards is they mail so easily, no bits and pieces to poke through the envelopes and they are cheap to mail too, a perfect size.  Maybe I will challenge myself to keep making them and send them to the troops through Operation Write Home.  You send blank cards for the military stationed abroad to use to send to their family and friends.
Anyway, the LIM challenge this week was to use mainly the colour of your eyes, mine are blue hence, this little blue boy!
Thanks for dropping by, if you would like to participate in WOYWW please pop over to visit Julia for more details and to add your link (lots more desks to snoop at too)!
