WOYWW

I am about to start working on a new project.  You might guess by the bag of shells that this might turn into something of a nautical theme!
If you want to see this finished come back next week, (probably Thursday as long as my scheduling works)!
The frame was in the clearance section of Michaels!  I couldn't believe what a bargain it was!
Here is the rest of my haul!  Almost everything here was on clearance!  I certainly went on the right day! I did actually sneak back later in the day and picked up one or two more things, well at those prices it would be a shame not to!
And something to work on when the sun goes down and the family want to watch some tv.
Now don't look too closely, this is a first, I am learning from You Tube videos.
If you have been putting off learning to crochet like I have (I did know the basics but only by working on a blanket already started) try this Crochet Summer Camp by Slugs on the Refrigerator.  Even clearer than the videos!  Next, I need to learn to follow patterns!

If you would like to know more about WOYWW or would like to join in then pop over to Julia's blog for more details!

Oh - you're a day early for WOYWW!! What a lot of lovely new stuff - its always great to get a bargain! Your crochet is looking good - I prefer it to knitting as it's so fast and you can even crochet the squares together instead of sewing them up (the bit I hate!)

Great bargains, I found myself wondering "what else did she buy" before I saw the second picture! Great crochet, that is one thing I will never master so no point in ever trying again. I have done my first cables though, and I'm currently knitting a bag! Well, got the plain bottom done and working on the cabled handles at the mo!

Holy cow. I must have missed it. But I live a long way from Michael's and my car no longer has AC, so it wasn't the best time to think about going. You got a real haul, though. Good for you.

Happy WOYWW from #2.

I think your granny square is looking pretty darn good for a beginner. Your Michael's haul looks fun. Who doen't love a good clearance sale?? I'll have to check our local Michael's. As a homeschooler I get like a 15 or 20% discount on my purchases at Michael's. (and AC Moore,& Joanne Fabrics) Can't wait to see what you do with your Beach theme. Happy crafting!!! (((HUGS)))

Wow! That's quite a pile of bargains! Of course in the UK we don't have Micheal's. I buy all my materials online, as I don't know of anywhere nearby I could shop for supplies. Have fun using all your lovely bargains! They look gorgeous, I can't wait to see the finished project! Julie Ann x #45

Oh, I'm soooo jealous! I wish we had Michaels here in the UK! Anyhow, you got a heap of bargains there, gal, enjoy using them!
And I'm very impressed with your neat tension on the crochet..I learnt off YouTube too...much better than from a book. Even though I can decipher the thickest knitting patterns, crochet ones are beyond me...Double Dutch in fact! Come on LLJ, get a grip...you CAN do this :-)
And we're staying in Blightly for our hols, just a cottage somewhere..we couldn't be bothered to drag ourselves through an airport! And I've made a date to meet up with another WOYWWer, so that'll be fun!
Hugs, LLJ 46 xx

Good timing at the store!! You certainly enjoyed your visit there. When you have learned how to follow crochet patterns
.... well, do pass on the secret. I can do the squares, and join together squares to make a blanket - and there I come to a full stop! Can't manage anything else :(
Have a great week.

That is so weird...Gail and I started learning to crochet last week....what a scream we had...a bit of a disaster to start with but then we got it! So far have only managed a basic square shape but really want to be able to make the wee animals! Might be a while!lol
Enjoy your goodies xx

Hello Deb, you did pick a lot of lovely goodies - you can't beat a bargain - in particular, the enamel dots caught my eye as they are my current favourite embellishment. It looks as though you picking up how to crochet very well too. I like the colour combination in your square and it is the perfect craft to fill an hour or two in front of the TV. Enjoy your day and have a great week. Elizabeth x #47

What great bargains you got at Michael's! I wouldn't have been able to resist either. I just about fell on the floor when I saw they had enamel dots there (since they tend to be waaaaay behind trends.) Hope you have fun using all your new goodies. Happy WOYWW! ~ Laura #101

I'm so jealous that you get stores like Micheals, Uk craft stores are not up to scratch at all!

What a marvellous haul of goodies! I love the letters, and that lovely little pack of red ribbons and braids. You are going to have such fun with all this!

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was quite small. I've always enjoyed it - it grows much more quickly than knitting! (I love knitting too.)
