Robert Burns Celebration

Today is the birthday of Robert Burns so it seemed appropriate to make a Scottish themed card. I had to use one of my wee kilted Sugar Nellies, this one is 'Dancing Maggie'. There are lots of Burns night celebrations going on this week and the schools even put on special Burns lunches of Haggis, neeps and tatties. (Haggis, turnip and mashed potato). I haven't made our haggis dinner yet but maybe next weekend! Love the stuff!
It is a very simple card as I spent most of yesterday painting up some images for a more elaborate project which seems to be taking forever! I also helped Milly create her card for the Crafty Monkeys challenge which is a sketch by the very talented Hannah. I was also called upon frequently to help my youngest son find the pieces for his Lego Star Wars Death Star...don't ask!
Maybe I will get a picture of it so far! Half built!

ooh, I am very chatty today, must crack on, I need lots of cards for Feb/March!

Hope you are all having a great weekend, thanks for dropping by!

Supplies: DP~ EK Success 'Stacy Claire Boyd'

  14. Hi Deb, Maggie is just adorable...LOVE the colours you used for her! And sure isn't CAS (clean and simple) exactly what the house of sugar is asking for? I think this is adorable!

And thank you soooo much for my surprise! I absolutely LOVED everything in it...most of the images I didn't have so I am delighted to get my greedy mits on those!!

And I for one am really glad you were "chatty" on this post as I loved hearing all about how Scotland celebrates Robert Burns! If it doesn't gross you out, would you show us a photo of your haggis dinner...Yep, hands up, I'm nosey, but I'm also "interested"!! bx

  20. such a cute Maggie dancing the Highland Fling! I hope your Burns night went well, or will do once you catch that Haggis! Your death star experiences took me back a bit, although the Milennium Falcon was the most complicated I ever had to assist in making! hugs, annie x
