Just Magnolia and Stamptacular

The Just Magnolia challenge is asking for different shape cards, while this isn't strictly a card it is an alternative shape of sorts so hopefully qualifies!
The stamptacular sunday challenge is to have chocolate somewhere on your creation. I made a little pocket on my bottle decoration which is holding a packet of Thornton's special chocolate!

This is one of my favourite Edwins. He is from the Magnolia Summer Kit 2008. The papers are Basic Grey 'Archaic', I must find some different masculine papers I always resort to these!

Below is the template I used, I used my nestabilities circles to cut the top, I just stopped short of cutting out the whole circle and wound the cuttlebug backwards to take it out!

I used my Scorpal to create the folds where the points are which helps the card hang correctly on the bottle.

This is the basic shape of the box on the front to hold the chocolate. I haven't added any measurements as they differ depending on what size the chocolate bar is. I measured the chocolate bar and then added 2 cm around.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend, many thanks for dropping in!

I can't wait to see the other stamps made up, so far only seen the images but I promise you will love them! The new stamps go on sale on June 1st!

My friend Debbie Moore who owns The Crafty Pad has asked if I would promote this fabulous stamp for her. Here is what she says about it....

For every stamp I sell I shall donate £1.00 to THE CANCER RESEARCH CHARITY. :)

Introducing A Race for Life stamp named June I designed this stamp especially for the Race for Life charity run. I have named her June. :)I shall be donating £1.00 for every stamp sold to the Cancer Research Charity. She is quite a versatile stamp in that the Text is actually seperate to the image and so she can be used for Congrats, Good Luck, Well done etc. I have left the banner blank for you to use as you wish :)

June shall be available for pre-order from Monday 18th May - orders shall be dispatched on the 25th May. ;)She is of course available to buy from The Crafty PadThe price for the June stamp is £3.00I also have her for sale on ebay. :)

I hope everyone will help support this good cause, if like me you couldn't run to catch a bus this is a good way to contribute!

Have a great day!

Stamp something clean and simple

The Stamp Something challenge this week asks you to case a card of Lauren's and also use her style which is Clean and Simple!
A real challenge for me, although I love the look I can't ever seem to achieve it or know when to stop! I saw this sweet little card on Lauren's blog and decided it was the one!
I have had a mojo-less morning and alread ditched a card I made, so ended up rushing this and not happy with it either. I needed to spend a bit more time on it I think! I love the idea and Lauren's examples are gorgeous. I will definitely make another one!
I will decorate the inside more next time! It was a ridiculously quick make though so if ever you need just a little bit more than a card but with little time it is a great little gift!
Incase anyone wants the measurements Lauren does have a template on her blog but I just used a 8 " x 8" square, I used my Scorpal to create folds at 4" on both sides. Then cut out one small square and the corner off the next one to make this shape. So simple!

No supplies list, think the paper is K and Co. Any other questions just shout! I am running late now so have to dash, hope you have a fabulous sunday!

Cute Card Thursday ~ Letters and Numbers

The Challenge on Cute Card Thursday this week is letters and numbers. You can use either letters or numbers or both! I just had to make a card for one of the Post Pal children as I decided that last week's card was a bit too grown up. I chose Ben S who is one of the featured children this month. His lovely face reminds me of Whimsy Stamps Knight Connor!
I am also entering this card for the Ismaki Sketch challenge too, this week it is Manue's sketch that I used.
We have a fantastic prize on offer donated by Frazzled Crafts and Sam and Dawn are sharing their last week as Guest Designers! Please go and check out their cards and the rest of the fabulous Design Team's cards.

I made another of my book cards, this time for my daughter, the first time I made a girly one. She loved it! Her eyes lit up when she saw it!
She especially loved the little bag of sweeties!

The images are the fabulous Sugar Nellie 'Sweet and Sassy' and 'flowers' designed by Elisabeth Bell!

The papers are Basic Grey 'Lily Kate' and Doodlebug

The sentiment is a Basic Grey rub-on

I created a little box to attach so that the sweeties had a little holder.

Think I covered all supplies but any questions just shout!
I am back in the garden today, just loving the sunshine, lots of jobs to do out there but they are never a problem if the weather is good! Hope you are having great weather too!

Ismaki and Whimsy bookmark

I was in such a rush to make this card that although I used the Ismaki sketch designed by Kianel, I completely forgot the option was to use violet! Whoops!
Not altogether happy with it as I was rushing to catch the Post office (which wasn't open anyway!)

Papers are BAsic Grey 'Porcelain' available in the Whimsy Online Shop (if you shop this week you will get a 20% discount just type in the code VACATION) hurry for one week only while Denise is on vacation! Stamp is Magnolia from last year's summer kit. Punch is Martha Stewart. Tutorial for making the flowers is in my labels under tutorials!
I made this super quick bookmark today in between cutting the grass (I had to keep running in and out between showers!)

Cute Card Thursday ~ Mirror, mirror!

This week the theme on Cute Card Thursday is Mirror mirror! To use something shiny. You might be wondering where my shiny thing is........look very closely and you still might struggle to see it! I used glossy accents on the glasses, doesn't show up well in the photo though! I also used a metal plaque and my eyelets are quite shiny. Well, that is about as shiny as I get!
I used the sketch from the Friday Sketcher's challenge, I have seen this one used so many times this week, wasn't it a fabulous sketch?

I am also entering this card into the Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is blue and green this week.
Thanks to everyone who has asked about my finger, it is improving and I am able to use it much more but it isn't perfectly healed unfortunately, looks like it will take a while and still feels a bit numb! The stitches are out but it still looks a mess!

Back to CCT we have another fabulous prize, a Stampin' Up stamp set kindly donated by Jenny of Made on the Farm. We have Marcea and Sam who are our guest designers and of course some fabulous cards made by our regular design team.

whimsy challenges and stamp something

The Whimsy Stamps Challenge this week is to create something monochromatic. It had to be all shades of one colour plus a neutral. I think I am stretching the neutral a little as I needed to have brown for the hair, didn't think she would look too good with cream hair!
I used Whimsy Stamps Rainy Day Emma as she fits the theme of Showers or flowers perfectly over on Stamp Something so I can enter this there too!
I decided to make a bookmark as I have just discovered the Twilight novels (thanks Denise) and am using a piece of card as a bookmark. I followed Suzanne Dean's fabulous tutorial for the corner bookmark! They are pretty quick and easy to make!
Last night I realised both my little ones were reading without bookmarks (where do they go?) so I reckon they will both be getting one amongst their birthday pressies!
I have just had a sneak peek at the 2 new kids collection Whimsy stamps, they are adorable, no hints just yet but I promise you will love them, can't wait to get my hands on them!
We also have a new DT member, I am sure you will all know her, Claire of CraftyC!
Watch out for more of her amazing creations!

The Angel Company mini album

A few weeks ago my friend and SBS4 sister Diana asked if I would be her April WOW blogger! I was delighted to be asked and was thrilled with the fantastic The Angel Company products she sent for me to use!

The stamp set reminded me of summer and the coasters and small envelopes came with the set so I felt it was crying out to be made into a mini album.

The Stamptacular challenge this week was to use a charm along with a stamped image. My stamped images are on the front of the album and the charm is hanging inside the book here.

Supplies: The Angel Company papers and stamps, coasters and mini envelopes.
embellishments : various rub-ons and ribbons

Hope you are having a lovely sunday, it has turned chilly here, good day for staying in crafting! We are making up the party bags for the little ones birthday next week!!! Kids are doing most of it themselves, they are clever little cookies!

ismaki

I used the fabulous sketch over at Ismaki designed by the very talented Isa this week. The option was birds but I forgot to add one..whoops! Wonder if Melinda's wings will count?
The image is sweet 'Confirmation Melinda' from Whiff of Joy. This image I coloured a while back with watercolour paints before I got my Copics. My paintbrushes have been neglected since they arrived!
Supplies: Stamps ~ Whiff of Joy 'confirmand Melinda' and studio G
DP ~ Basic Grey 'Sugared'
flowers are punched as shown in this tutorial

Cute Card Thursday ~ Getting Edgy

First of all I have to thank everyone who left sweet messages for me following my mishap! It is healing well but stitches aren't out until monday now! It is feeling better though and I am managing to create with the other 3 fingers and thumb! I had these images coloured up from last week but hoping to try colouring later today! This card is for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge, I must say a huge thank you to Andrea for stepping in and writing up the post for me to give my finger a break! (Hopefully she will be tempted to come back full time..hehe!)

The theme this week is 'Getting Edgy', you can distress, tear or sew your edges.

I love this challenge, it was one Lynn set before her break!

Hopefully you can see all the distressing and I managed to do a little tearing inside!

I am also entering this card for the Truly Scrumptious challenge, the sketch is amazing, so many layers, just the way I like them! The theme is also to make a card for a child! Whimsy stamps is sponsoring the challenge, you could win a fabulous Whimsy stamp and sentiment stamp set.

I used my Whimsy Kids Collection Baseball Connor, the larger size is on the outside and the regular is on the inside. I think it is so cute to use both sizes. You can still get the larger size Baseball Connor for a limited period and at a discounted price over at the Whimsy Online Shop!

My son chose the sweeties he wanted in his card so the fold was measured accordingly! The little envelope holds some money.

We have the very talented and sweet Marcea as our Guest Designer for the next 2 weeks!
Please check out the rest of the Design Team's fantastic cards, they really are amazing!

MIA

I had a nasty little accident on friday, gave myself a deep cut with a kitchen knife on the index finger of my right hand, such an inconvenience, it affects so many things!
I ended up in A&E having 5 stitches!
It is still very sore and I am having difficulty typing and don't know when I will complete a card, I will be trying though, where there's a will there's a way!
I hope to get around to visiting again soon but due to the laborious way I am having to type my comments will be short and sweet until my finger heals!
Stitches out on friday so fingers crossed!
Take care, hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Welcome to the Whimsy Blog Hop!
Hopefully you will have already been to visit Denise and Vicki but if not pop on over there as we are holding a Whimsy Blog Hop today through 'til wednesday.
This is my creation for the Blog Hop, the theme was to use punches! I made my box using nestabilities for the top and bottom, I used a strip of card for the middle. I used a Fiskars lace edge punch for the decoration on the side, an EK success flower punch and Woodware flower punch for the flowers and my favourite L-Em leaf punch. The Whimsy image I used is 'Pajama Time Emma', she is such a sweetie and you can get her at a special price just now at the Whimsy Online Shop! I used my circle nestabilities to get just a portrait. The papers are Basic Grey 'Porcelain' also available at the Whimsy Online Shop.
You can also now get your hands on the newly released Whimsy Animal Collection 'pig', 'lamb' and 'geese'!
The next Whimsy DT member on the blog hop is Erin, hop on over to check out her creation. She will also tell you the next DT on the list to visit! You should end up back at Denise's blog and have visited everyone to be in with a chance of winning a prize!

The DT call for the Whimsy Challenge blog ends today so make sure you get your entry in asap! The challenge goes live next monday, 13th April!

The 'little sister' sentiment is a Basic Grey Rub-on from the Sugared collection.
All flowers are handmade using punches and the same Basic Grey papers!
