Whimsy Challenge ~ rounding up love for Jaimie

I made this card to send to Jaimie Cates who recently was the victim of a horrific crime. Whimsy Stamps owner Denise and Erin have arranged a fabulous, humongous blog hop and created a special new blog to encourage us all to send a card to Jaimie to help create some hope and lighten the dark days. Many amazing people have taken part in the blog hop and there are a huge amount of prizes! Although I am sure once you read Jaimie's story you will want to send a card no matter what!

To take part in the hop start here at Katharina's blog.

Here is my card for Jaimie and also for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge which is to create a card for Jaimie!
I used my Whimsy Stamps Fall Raccoons, they are such cheeky chaps they are guaranteed to bring a smile!

Whimsy Stamps Cat and Fish

This is one of the new Whimsy Stamps latest releases, from the Animals Collection, it is called Whimsy Cat and Fish.

It is such a naughty looking cat, still very cute though! He makes me giggle!

I am entering this card for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge which this week is punches and die cuts. I did struggle as I decided this was a male card so didn't want to add any flowers or leaves so went for a nestie frame cut around the image.

I found this great paper on saturday in Robert's, it is The Paper Company and it is called Paws and Claws Cat Toys! It was so perfect for this stamp!
The other papers are Stampin' Up and were a great match. The sentiment is a rub-on, the tiny cute star buttons are Dress It Up and the gems are Prima.

Whimsy Challenge Summer Day Emma

Here is the very adorable Summer Day Emma from Whimsy Kids Collection.

This is my card for this week's Whimsy Stamps Challenge which is Sugar and Spice/Frogs and Snails or make a girl or boy card! Well, I would say this is a very girly card!
You might recognise the sketch from the Basic Grey Challenge, I followed it very carefully then realised I hadn't used any Basic Grey.....duhhhh! Oh well, maybe next time!
This must the first card I made in a long time that didn't have some BG on it!
Papers are Crate from the Mia Collection, the flowers and pearls are Prima and of course all stamps are Whimsy!
Have a great weekend!

Whimsy Stamps Challenge~buttons

The Whimsy Stamps Giraffe is such a perfect shape and size for a bookmark and my daughter is badly in need of one. In fact all the kids are, they are reading loads more since our move here..a very good thing! I decided as I went along that this is looking more boyish now so I will make some more, one for each of them and this will be for one of the boys!
The Whimsy Stamps Challenge this week is to use buttons! I had to keep them small on here so the book will still close!

This quote is from an Inkadinkado stamp set 'kid quotes', all the quotes are so cute, you will see more of them here very soon!

Couldn't resist showing you my latest craft room find, we bought this at the weekend at a Consignment store. I have had my eye on it for a few weeks and it was reduced when we went in on saturday so we had to have it! Can't wait to fill all those drawers with crafty goodies!
Whimsy Stamps have a cute digi image for sale to raise funds for Paige a 13year old girl involved in a boating accident who has since has part of her arm amputated. You can send Paige a card and register with Erin for tons of blog candy for doing so!
You can read what happened to Paige here
If you visit Whimsy Stamps you will see the cute teddy digi image and samples of card made with it. Please pop over and purchase this image and make a card for Paige, it is really lifting her spirits to receive cards from so many kind hearted crafters.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are having a great start to your week!

A card for Paige!

I made my card for Paige, a 13 year old girl who had a serious boating accident and as a result has had to have part of her arm amputated....read more on Erin's blog here
You can get the cute Whimsy image I used over at Whimsy Stamps Paige's story and the link to the image is on the homepage. Please consider purchasing this image as every purchase goes to Paige's fund, please also consider making a card to send to Paige.
I am entering this card into the Whimsy Stamps Challenge this week, the theme is sew, sew, sew! Of course my stitching is faux as I don't even have a needle and thread with me never mind a sewing machine! I used letraset and doodlebug rub on alphabet 'x's instead!

Here Erin explains about the new digi image from Whimsy Stamps!
Go to Erin's blog to register for some fantastic candy for sending Paige a card!
That sweet little bear image at the top of the post is the newest digi image from Whimsy Stamps!! One of the talented designers created this Teddy for Paige over the weekend. Big hugs to Denise and her designer for getting this bear so quicjkly and so cute!!! It's amazing!

Whimsy 3 in 1

A 3 in 1 challenge card today! This is my Whimsy Stamps Challenge card, the theme is flower power, I think I added plenty of those! The prize this time is the winners choice of any Whimsy Stamp! You can use any stamp for this challenge it doesn't have to be Whimsy and you can still be included in the draw for the prize but if you do use a Whimsy stamp you get 2 chances to win! Can't say fairer than that eh?
I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers, this has become my favourite sketch challenge lately. This week it is a sketch designed by the very sweet and talented Claudia!
The third Challenge is Cafe Mojo which asks for bling! I added some blingy brads! Whimsy Stamps are sponsoring Cafe Mojo all month and this week you can win Baseball Connor, Knight Connor and a pack of BAsic Grey Brads! Fabulous prize!
I used Whimsy Stamps 'Rainy Day Emma', the papers are Basic Grey 'Marrakesh', sentiment stamp is studio G and the small roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Other flowers made with punches.
I hope you will all drop by Whimsy Stamps Challenge and the Cafe Mojo challenge, they are fairly new so only have a few players, of course that means you have a very good chance of winning!!
Have a great day!

whimsy challenges and stamp something

The Whimsy Stamps Challenge this week is to create something monochromatic. It had to be all shades of one colour plus a neutral. I think I am stretching the neutral a little as I needed to have brown for the hair, didn't think she would look too good with cream hair!
I used Whimsy Stamps Rainy Day Emma as she fits the theme of Showers or flowers perfectly over on Stamp Something so I can enter this there too!
I decided to make a bookmark as I have just discovered the Twilight novels (thanks Denise) and am using a piece of card as a bookmark. I followed Suzanne Dean's fabulous tutorial for the corner bookmark! They are pretty quick and easy to make!
Last night I realised both my little ones were reading without bookmarks (where do they go?) so I reckon they will both be getting one amongst their birthday pressies!
I have just had a sneak peek at the 2 new kids collection Whimsy stamps, they are adorable, no hints just yet but I promise you will love them, can't wait to get my hands on them!
We also have a new DT member, I am sure you will all know her, Claire of CraftyC!
Watch out for more of her amazing creations!
