Stamp Something - a recipe

This is my last week as a guest designer for Stamp Something, thanks ladies for asking me to join you, it was so much fun!
The theme this week is a recipe, paper, tag, ribbon and bow continuing the birthday theme for the month.
Paper Jewels are sponsoring Stamp Something, they carry CC Designs so I thought I would use this little cutie.  I knew he would be perfect for a teacher thank you card!  He is a digital image called School Puppy.
My 'tag' is one of Ann Vento's fabulous new Ticket stamps now available from Whimsy Stamps.
The papers are Basic Grey 'Nook and Pantry'.
I used the fabulous sketch from Papertake Weekly.
it also fits
ABC - vintage ( lace is cream and looks very vintage IRL)!
*************
I am sure like me, you are all so glad it is Friday, have a fabulous long weekend, think this is one of the rare holidays that both the US and the UK have, if for different reasons!

Stamp Something ~ Guest Designer

I am honoured this week to be a guest designer on Stamp Something Challenges
Do pop over there, they are celebrating their second anniversary with a blog hop and have lots of prizes to give away! To join in the blog hop start here!
The theme this week is 2 of Something!
I used 2 DPs, 2 buttons, 2 bows, 2 pearl gems, 2 punched layers,  oh and 2 sentiments, went a bit crazy with 2's!
The image I used is one of Whimsy Stamps digital collection from Crissy Armstrong, it is called 'party snail', I coloured him with Copics using the dotty technique that Crissy first showed us!  The sentiments are also from Whimsy! The celebration sentiment is from the digital collection and the Happy Birthday is from a rubber stamp set both from Ann Vento aka  Raindrop Echo Designs.
Whimsy are holding a DT call just now for a couple of new designers, see here for details!
The papers I used on my card are the fab new Basic Grey 'Green at heart'.
I used the fabulous sketch over on Inspirational Card Sketches.
Back to Stamp Something, hope you can join in this week, they have a fabulous sponsor
Also if you are quick this morning you might just have time to join in the Whimsy Stamps Carousel Horse Release Party, lots of prizes there too!  It ends today at noon (EST)!!!!
You can start the hop here!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a quiet weekend as it has been hectic here for the past month or so!  Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Stamp Something ~ Guest Designer

I am a guest designer this week for Stamp Something, what an honour, I love this challenge and try to play along each week if possible!
This week they have a recipe!
Designer Paper, ribbon, button
I decided to make a bookmark for this challenge, I want to make a few more of these as they make a great little gift to add in with a card, especially if using the same papers and similar images!
I also messed it up by distressing the edges and scrumpling up my circular flower so that it fit into the Saturday Spotlight challenge which is being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this week.
The very cute owl on my bookmark is a Whimsy Stamp, he was one of the first stamps I received from Whimsy and I still love him!
The books are from Whiff of Joy, they are gorgeous, they will be featuring on a few more of my bookmarks I am sure!
I coloured them both with distress inks for a change, it was great to get the paintbrushes out again!
The Designer Paper I used is
Basic Grey 'Lily Kate'
Thank you for dropping in, hope you have a fabulous weekend!

cute card thursday - Pink and Grey

Over at Cute Card Thursday this week the theme is

Pink and Grey

They are not colours I normally put together but so glad this challenge made me do it as I love it now! Of course the BG papers are gorgeous so what's not to love?

I finally got around to making an easel card, been admiring them all around blogland for a while now but this week was the first chance I got to really take my time and enjoy making my card instead of the rush jobs I have had to do lately!

I got this adorable image from Denise a while back, gonna have to get this stamp I have loved using her!
I used the fantastic sketch over at Stamp Something this week. This week the sketch is designed by Denise,

I am also entering this card into the Spoonful of Sugar challenge set this week by Karen she gave us a recipe.
use 3 pieces of DP, one piece of ribbon, 3 flowers and 3 buttons. okay, so I got carried away with the flowers just a tad but the extra ones are only tiny!
It also fits into the ABC challenge which is l for layering.

we once again have a fantastic prize on offer over at CCT and the DT examples are fabulous as always, hope you can play along!

I went to a Stampin' Up class yesterday and we made this, isn't it sweet? We made 6 cards which fit neatly inside complete with envelopes. some lucky person is going to be receiving this as a gift later in the year and I signed up for the next class next month! It was great to meet up with other stampers, I hadn't met any locally up to then!

Thanks for dropping by, hope you have a great day!

Festive Fun!

I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers for this card, it came together so quickly, essential at this time of the year, I am sure the clock goes around faster in December!
It also fits the challenge over at Stamp Something, the theme is Winter Wonderland Somethings, as I made a Christmas card I am sure it works!

The papers are the fantastic My Minds Eye, I have used lots of this on my cards this year! The image is a very sweet one from Sugar Nellie. This card will be going to my youngest daughter, it is very her with her pink boots and stripey leggings!
Sorry can't hang about, so much to do before our Christmas guests arrive early next week!
have a great day!

Stamp Something ~ sketch something

HOw cute is this little bug?

I followed the sketch over at

Love the sketch, very versatile! the image is a High Hopes stamp as is the sentiment. Papers are Basic Grey 'Granola'.

I'm off back to my breadmaking, having to do it the old fashioned way as I left my breadmaker in the UK. Never had much success the old fashioned way I must confess and it is even harder with the high altitude so I am a little nervous of how it will turn out. I will let you know!
have a great afternoon,

Image coloured using Copics.

Looks like we have a busy weekend ahead, hope you all have a great one too!

Stamp Something - Alligator Purse

The Stamp Something challenge this week was to use your favourite embellishments. I have lots of favourites, infact embellishments are my favourite part of any card but if I am forced to choose, and I am, I would say metal charms. I have added a few to my Alligator Purse Memory holder.
I used the very cute Whimsy Alligator to my holder, he is such a dream to colour.
The Whimsy Website has been revamped and looks amazing!
You can see the new release of Pet stamps which are available to preorder as a set at a great low price!

I bought a cancelled check wallet at Staples this morning, knowing it would come in handy for something. I altered it so it can be given as a gift with photos inside.

DP~ Cosmo Cricket 'Girl Friday - Sunday'
Basic Grey 'offbeat'
Embellishments ~ Making Memories charms, Tim Holz muse token, raffle ticket, buttons, hemp, Post It page marker, flower paperclip

Stamp something clean and simple

The Stamp Something challenge this week asks you to case a card of Lauren's and also use her style which is Clean and Simple!
A real challenge for me, although I love the look I can't ever seem to achieve it or know when to stop! I saw this sweet little card on Lauren's blog and decided it was the one!
I have had a mojo-less morning and alread ditched a card I made, so ended up rushing this and not happy with it either. I needed to spend a bit more time on it I think! I love the idea and Lauren's examples are gorgeous. I will definitely make another one!
I will decorate the inside more next time! It was a ridiculously quick make though so if ever you need just a little bit more than a card but with little time it is a great little gift!
Incase anyone wants the measurements Lauren does have a template on her blog but I just used a 8 " x 8" square, I used my Scorpal to create folds at 4" on both sides. Then cut out one small square and the corner off the next one to make this shape. So simple!

No supplies list, think the paper is K and Co. Any other questions just shout! I am running late now so have to dash, hope you have a fabulous sunday!

whimsy challenges and stamp something

The Whimsy Stamps Challenge this week is to create something monochromatic. It had to be all shades of one colour plus a neutral. I think I am stretching the neutral a little as I needed to have brown for the hair, didn't think she would look too good with cream hair!
I used Whimsy Stamps Rainy Day Emma as she fits the theme of Showers or flowers perfectly over on Stamp Something so I can enter this there too!
I decided to make a bookmark as I have just discovered the Twilight novels (thanks Denise) and am using a piece of card as a bookmark. I followed Suzanne Dean's fabulous tutorial for the corner bookmark! They are pretty quick and easy to make!
Last night I realised both my little ones were reading without bookmarks (where do they go?) so I reckon they will both be getting one amongst their birthday pressies!
I have just had a sneak peek at the 2 new kids collection Whimsy stamps, they are adorable, no hints just yet but I promise you will love them, can't wait to get my hands on them!
We also have a new DT member, I am sure you will all know her, Claire of CraftyC!
Watch out for more of her amazing creations!
