cute card thursday ~ sketchtastic

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and that you all have a very safe and Happy New Year!
Over at Cute Card Thursday this week we have an amazing sketch by Caz.
I started this one before Christmas so it is yet another Christmas card, glad to be getting a start on next year! I am determined to be more organised in this coming year!
I used this adorable Whimsy stamp 'jolly puppy kisses' designed by Crissy Armstrong. Watch out for the next Whimsy release on January 3rd, they are more of Crissy's designs and you will totally love them!
The sentiment stamp is also from Whimsy from the sentiments collection. These were designed by our very own Ann Vento.
Hope you get the opportunity to play along this week!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Whimsy Advent Event - Day 18

Welcome to the Whimsy Advent Event!
Cannot believe it is day 18 already, is the panic setting in yet?

I have been feeling it all month, there is never enough time during December is there?

Today it is my turn to host the prize for the Advent Event and it is this fantastic stamp!

He is such a cutie, such a cheeky grin on his face! All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning him is leave a comment on this post and I will choose a winner tomorrow morning! Good luck!
***********************

I have seen a few of these chocolate bar covers around and thought they would make a really speedy gift! I created the circlular sentiment in word and then masked it and stamped the Whimsy 'N'ice Friends' image in the centre. The papers are My Minds Eye and the flowers are Prima.

The tag stamp on the back is by Stampin'Up.

Please pop over to see the fabulous Whimsy creation my good friend and fellow Design Team member Debbie has to show today.

I created a tutorial for the garland I made last week and it is posted on the SNR website here
Whimsy also has a guest designer call out just now, all details can be found on the Whimsy Website.

You will find all the details for this and also the Whimsy holiday card competition voting beneath the Whimsy Advent Event post.
Don't forget to check back tomorrow morning to find out the winner of the Whimsy Lion stamp!

Cute Card Thursday ~ Apertures

The Cute Card Thursday challenge this week is to create an
aperture card.
Mine was too simple this week that I nearly didn't join in but it is still quite cute so here it is, late as usual though! This was created very quickly using the Cricut machine with the Winter Woodland cartridge.

I know everyone is so busy this week but hope you will be able to join in, we have another fabulous prize on offer and the other DT members creations are fantastic!
I'll be back in the morning with my Whimsy Advent Post! Hope to see you then, have a goodnight!

Festive Fun!

I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers for this card, it came together so quickly, essential at this time of the year, I am sure the clock goes around faster in December!
It also fits the challenge over at Stamp Something, the theme is Winter Wonderland Somethings, as I made a Christmas card I am sure it works!

The papers are the fantastic My Minds Eye, I have used lots of this on my cards this year! The image is a very sweet one from Sugar Nellie. This card will be going to my youngest daughter, it is very her with her pink boots and stripey leggings!
Sorry can't hang about, so much to do before our Christmas guests arrive early next week!
have a great day!

Whimsy Advent Event - December 11th

Welcome to Day 11 of the Whimsy Advent Event!
I don't have the prize today, my good friend and fellow Whimsy Design Team member Debbie is hosting the prize this week. Please pop over and see her fabulous creation and also leave her a comment to be in with a chance of winning the hilarious Whimsy 'Bunny and Snowman' Stamp, I love that stamp, it always makes me giggle, suits my wicked sense of humour..
Here is my Whimsy Creation for this week!
A christmas garland.
It is difficult to show the whole thing as it is soooooo long! Here are some closer views.....

I opted for 'Cool Yule' as 'Merry Christmas' was going to be just too long!

I used my fabulous Cricut machine which has had a very long holiday since we first packed up in July but now it is back and I plan to do another project with it very soon! I was thrilled to find an American plug in the box, how convenient!

Here are the Whimsy Winter Racoons, they are so cheeky, love them!Next up is Whimsy 'jolly puppy kisses' from the Crissy Armstrong collection
and the last image I used on my garland is Whimsy 'N'ice friends' also from the Crissy Armstrong collection.
If you would like to make a similar garland Denise will be posting my tutorial on SNR on the Whimsy homepage very soon, I will let you know once it is up!

Don't forget that the Advent Event runs right up until Christmas Eve with prizes given away every day! Check out my sidebar to see which DT member is hosting each day!

All you have to do is leave a comment under this post and you will be in with a chance to win her! I will drawing the winner at random tomorrow so you won't have long to wait to find out if you won!

Be sure to leave me a comment today if you would like a chance to win this adorable stamp. I will be drawing tomorrow morning!

********************

I found an amazing idea on Ali Edwards blog, (thanks Sparkle for pointing me in the right direction), she makes a December Daily every year. Each day in December she creates a page to document all the treats and traditions of the Christmas period.

I loved the idea and decided I had to create one.
I still have a couple of embellishments to add to my pages but this is the second page (need to add the number 2!) it shows the cards I was making and I had to add an image of the Whimsy snowman 'N'ice friends' stamp that I am using for my cards.

This is the first page, had to show off the advent calendars, the reason the kids are so excited for December 1st! Sorry for the blanked out faces, don't like to show pics of the kids on here!

HOw the pages will lie together.

The first page. I am leaving it like this until I get a family photo on christmas day to take pride of place in the centre.

I'll use some book rings to hold the whole thing together.
Will give you a glimpse of the completed album once it is complete, possibly in January!
*************
Don't forget to join in the Advent fun at Whimsy right up until Christmas! I will be back myself hosting again next friday!
have a fantastic weekend!

Whimsy Advent Event

December is a very exciting month at Whimsy Stamps. Each day up until Christmas at least one of the Whimsy Design Team will be hosting the advent event, showing a new card and offering a prize! Check out the Whimsy Website each day for details on who is hosting that day and where the prize for that day is on offer!

**********
This week Whimsy are sponsoring the
their theme is Christmas!

A very plain and simple card from me today, I have decided that this one was so quick to make it will be my mass produced card for this year, I am hoping to make another 20+ of them tonight!

The snowman stamp is from ~Whimsy Stamps~ 'N'ice friends'

The beauty if this card, apart from the speed to make is that it is made from an a5 piece of card folded in half so it fits an ordinary sized envelope. I have also kept it fairly flat, no bulky embellishments so postage costs are kept to a minimum. I have spent a fortune at the post office already this year!

I cut down the centre of the front of the card and then stuck the image on after decorating, it gives a bit more dimension to an otherwise plain card.
The DP is Basic Grey Fruitcake.

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for visiting!

Cute Card Thursday ~ Snips and snails

Apologies for being so late, we were so busy celebrating Thanksgiving I didn't get a minute to get online!
Here is my card for this week, the theme is Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
to create a boys card.
This is one of my favourite Sugar Nellie images for boys, so cool! I need to send my nephew's birthday card early as it is my nieces birthday today and her card hasn't arrived in time! I am gutted, I allowed a week and 2 days and it still didn't make it!
As usual on CCT we have a fantastic prize and the rest of the DT creations are amazing! Hope you find time to play along!
Have a great weekend!

whiff of joy challenge and Papertake Weekly

Love this new Whiff of Joy stamp designed by Elisabeth Bell. Used it on my Whiff of Joy challenge card which was a sketch.
This card is also perfect for the Papertake Weekly challenge which I haven't managed to join in for an age. They want to see your Christmas cards!
This is a versatile stamp and I only decided to make it a christmas card at the last moment when I finally decided on the sentiment!

Sorry I haven't been around visiting lately, busy busy, the holidays are starting today so hopefully I will get some time to drop by over the next few days, so ready for this break as are the kids. We are very excited to be celebrating our first real Thanksgiving this week!
