back to school notebook

A really quick notebook cover, this took no time at all but made such a difference to the front of my basic 20cents notebook! I bought loads of these for the kids before they went back to school and still have a few untouched.  I am a list person so need a notebook per theme so this one is for school notes and I will soon have to make one for Christmas lists!  Decorating them is a great way to easily distinguish them and it also toughens up the cover although I like to keep it fairly flat so no bulky embellishments on here.
I used a digi image from Whimsy Stamps Meljen's Designs 'back to school pencil'
A Spoonful of Sugar challenge is being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this week and the theme is
anything goes!
Whimsy Stamps have a fabulous new release coming up next week, sneak peeks start on Thursday with a blog hop on Sunday 3rd October!
I will have a sneak peek here on Thursday and will also be taking part in the blog hop!

Cute Card Thursday - Sketch by Leann!

Leann has designed us a fabby sketch over on Cute Card Thursday this week!
These adorable Halloween stamps from Hanglar and Stanglar arrived last week and just had to use them immediately!  Mine are coloured with distress inks.
The paper is Basic Grey Eerie, how perfect is it with the bats hanging from the trees?
The flowers are Primas and I distressed these a little too!
WE are sponsored this week by Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.  Please check out the rest of the DT creations, fabulous as always!
As well as CCT this card fits into
Allsorts ~ at least 3 punches ( leaf punch, border punch and oval punch)
and
cutie sunday ~ fall colours
I love Halloween, as do the kids, the younger ones have already pulled out the Halloween costume box and started planning their very busy Halloween weekend!
Hope you have a fabulous Thursday, thank you for dropping by!

WOYWW

Time once again for WOYWW!
Rather less tidy than it has been of late, not had time to tidy between makes this week so it is a confused jumble.
The card is turned over as it is a secret until tomorrow's CCT post but that is what I am working on, just the embellishments left to add!
Also, what you can't see is my little pile of new Whimsy stamps for the upcoming rubber release, watch out for these next week, they are fantastic, saving some time to have a play with those later today!
Hope you get time to play along, if you don't know what WOYWW is, pop along to Julia's blog to find out and join in!

A little Christmas shopping!

Love new sneaky Tilda from the Christmas 2010 collection but didn't realise until after I had already masked her and stamped the boutique behind her, then coloured her that she was in her pjs!  I cunningly cut off her socks so it was less obvious!
I followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers and also added the lace so it also fit into the Just Magnolia challenge which is 'lace it'.
Moving along with the times has a Christmas theme
and
Winter Wonderland has a monochromatic theme.
Papers are Tim Holtz, flowers mixture of Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts and Michaels.
Stamps are of course Magnolia 'sneaky Tilda' and 'boutique' and the Merry Christmas stamp is Cat's Life Press.
gotta go and do some housework now, boo hiss!
have a great day!

An Autumn Day!

I have had this stamp a while now, it has such an Autumnal feel, so this is the first time it has seen ink. I am very into Autumn, Summer is so last season!  The colours are already beginning to change, only thing I dread is the leaves falling, so much work!  Apple pie is a perfect Autumn dessert, we had huge apple tree in our garden a few houses ago and I made apple pies and crumbles every week throughout the Autumn so now I always associate the two.
I copied a recipe of apple pie from a cook book and then distressed it, tore it etc to give it a vintage look.  This is a good idea if you don't actually want to rip up your book!
A few Autumn themed challenges around this week:
A spoonful of Sugar ~ Fall into Autumn
Incy Wincy ~ Autumn Colours
Pollycraft ~ Autumn Colours
Paperplay  ~ Autumn is a comin'
and
Totally Gorjuss challenge has a flower theme!

Once again used my new Whimsy Stamps Custom Design stamp you can get yours
Other supplies
Stamps ~ Belles and Whistles 'warm apple pie', Cat's Life Press 'Autumn Day',
Dies ~ Stampin' Up 'Top Note', Tim Holtz  Alterations 'Poincon, troquel', Nestabilities,
Designer Paper ~ Basic Grey 'Infuse'
Punch 'Martha Stewart leaf'
Assorted flowers from Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts.

One layer Christmas Card!

Wanting to get cracking on my Christmas cards I have been stalking the Christmas challenges and spotted a real challenge for me
Winter Wonderland ~ One Layer Cards!
Decided to take the challenge and this was the result!
I struggle with CAS cards as I never feel they have enough on them so I stamped like mad on this which is simply a piece of watercolour paper folded into a card.  It fits into an A6 (UK), A2 (US) envelope so perfect for posting and no bulk!  Might have to make a few more like this!
It is also a perfect card for the
also because I had to mask my images to stamp the background it also works for the

Supplies ~
Stamps ~  Main Image - Lily of the Valley, Postage Stamp - Inkadinkado, postcard, postmark, background and sentiment stamp all Stampin' Up.
Stamped in Stazon on Bockingford Watercolour Paper 300gsm, coloured with Distress Inks.
Hope you are all having a great start to the week!
thanks for dropping by!

Believe!

I have been desperate to make a card with this cute Lily of the Valley stamp, she is so quick to colour so I think it will be perfect for making a batch of simpler cards too!
The jewelled snowflake is Jolee's Jewels, crystallized Swarovski Elements I bought mine from Michael's, will someone lock those doors and keep me out of that store!  I always wished to be close to one but this one may be just a tad too convenient!
With my whopping big jewel I just had to enter the My time to craft challenge this week the theme is 'jewelled'!
Also perfect for me just now is Stampin for the weekend 'shabby or vintage' I am definitely in my vintage stage!  Errr, cardmaking style I mean!

Here is my Custom Design Stamp from Whimsy Stamps designed by Ann Vento.  There are lots of different styles to choose from and the wording is completely up to you, take a look here!
They really are perfectly customised to suit your needs! I love mine!

I am back into fully furnishing the insides of my cards again, now coming out of my' lazy period' and launched  into my 'can't get enough on my card period!'  Please ignore the blob in the middle of the top note die cut, my glue went crazy and I couldn't wait for it to dry!

Just love this jewel!  Might have to give this card to one of my daughters as I may not be able to part with this jewel!  Well, anyway, it would make the card too heavy to mail, no really it would.....

Supplies
Stamps - Lily of the Valley - coloured with distress inks, Prima clear stamp, Whimsy Custom Design stamp
DP - My Mind's Eye 'life stories'
Jolee's jewels - snowflake pendant
Tools - Stampin' Up 'ticket corner punch', 'bigz die top note'

I will be back on Monday, hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I for one am so happy it is here!

Cute Card Thursday - Play on Words!

Cute Card Thursday has a fun theme this week
Play on Words
I thought this Halloween stamp was so funny when I saw it just had to grab it out of a bargain basket in Michaels!
I masked it and stamped the background using a Stampin' Up background stamp.  I created the tag top using one edge of a nestie frame.

I covered some Hershey nuggets in this Halloween paper by Basic Grey called 'Eerie' it is a 6x6 pad so the patterns are perfectly small enough.
The basket I found in a Yard Sale a couple of weeks back for about 50 cents!

This is the wooden box I was painting the other day.  Finished it off with some distressing and then stamped on some Halloween images in Stazon.  The stamps are Clear Art 'Halloween Fun'

The crackle finish was obtained by painting the box with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Vintage Photo.

Do pop over and see what the rest of the DT have come up with, there are some great fun sentiments out there, can't wait to see yours!
We are sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp!

Have a great day!

WOYWW

This is such a short week, Wednesday has come around so fast!  It is time for WOYWW (what's on your workdesk Wednesday!)
Here is something I am working on to hopefully show tomorrow in my Cute Card Thursday post (it is not my main project so I feel I can show you this little snippet)
It is a wooden box I picked up from Michael's, hoping to create a Halloween creation, we will see how it turns out!  Painted it with Distress Crackle Paint and I love how it is drying, very spooky!

Also from Michael's this week I bought this gorgeous storage unit, wanted to see how it fit and it is perfect, off to get some more later today!

The little drawers are the perfect size for my Tim Holtz dies!  May need to get some more just to fill the drawer though! Can't have them jostling about in there!

I picked this up at a yard sale, so love this humour, there are lots of pages so will show a new one each week!
Off to check out what is on your workdesk...I hope, if you played along, if not pop along here!
