Cute Card Thursday - Sketch by Christine!

I am so late today, my schedule is all off this week with the kids being off school!  It has mostly been taken up with Science Fair experiments but managed to get out ski-ing yesterday!  I think I am finally starting to like it!

We have a fabulous sketch by DT Christine to follow over on Cute Card Thursday this week.  It worked perfectly for this card for my son's upcoming birthday.
WE are sponsored this week by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps
you can win 2 rubber stamps of your choice!

I make a book card for all my children's birthdays, I think it is now expected!

It holds the obligatory English sweeties (the ones they miss) and of course some cash which they also love to get despite the mountains of pressies too!

Happy Valentines Day!

If you are looking for the Whimsy February Rubber Release Blog hop please click here!

Hope you are having a great start to the week and a very special Valentines Day!

Chicken Soup has this fabulous pic for inspiration and the simplicity of it was so perfect for Hubby's Valentines card!  He is so not into flowers and frills so I kept it super simple. I loved this little devil so much I didn't mind too much not adding anything else.
He is available from Whimsy Stamps, a digital image designed by Melissa Jenkins.
I coloured him with Prismacolor Pencils.
The die is the Stampin Up Top Note Die.

I am also entering it into
Stamp Something ~ something for your Valentine
One Stop Craft ~ Love is in the air

Whimsy Stamps Postage Stamps album

A little late but here are the rest of the photos from my sneak peek I teased you with on Monday!
All of the stamps are the newly released Whimsy Stamps 'Postage Stamps' and 'Birthday Postage Stamps' designed by Ann Vento aka Raindrop Echo Designs!
There is also a new Postage Stamp die available specially designed to cut out these postage stamps, so perfect!

A little mini album held together with ribbon.

With lots of room for decoration!

I used Cosmo Cricket 'Everafter' but with this project being quite small I managed to use only one sheet of double sided paper and the rest are all from the cover sheet!

I used various flower, leaf and butterfly punches.

and lots of rub ons.

I heat embossed all of the postage stamp images.

These little quotes are all from the cover sheet of the Cosmo Cricket kit, how is that for recycling?

and the very back page of the album
Can you tell, this is a Valentines pressie?
Our wedding photo is 18 years old, yikes!

This was so much fun to make, I enjoyed every minute of it and love the album!
Challenges I am entering this album into......
A spoonful of Sugar ~ Lets see some love!
Everybody Art ~ Valentine
Creative Card Crew ~ For a loved one!

Thanks for dropping by, hope you have a fantastic weekend!

For the Whimsy Stamps February Rubber Stamps Release Blog Hop click here!

This week on Cute Card Thursday we have a Hearts and Flowers them, perfect for all those Valentines cards although not necessarily as my card shows.
We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!
I decided to try one of these side step cards finally after seeing this amazing creation on Marlene's blog, she gave the link to the tutorial for the side step dresser card, you can see it here!

I used a variety of punches to create the bed and bedding and hand cut the little dress and vase.
This may be the one and only time the I don't ink around the edges but I wanted a really clean look to this card.

I used the newly released Whimsy Stamps 'Spring Sitter Bunny' designed by Melissa Jenkins.
Challenges I am entering
Cuttlebug Spot ~ Step cards
My Time to craft ~ hears and flowers
I had planned to show the inside of the sneak peek mini album from Monday but it will have to wait until tomorrow, what can I say?  It has been a busy week!

For this hop we have 6 different prize draws! We have not one but TWO grand prize draws, so two lucky hoppers will win a large selection of new release stamps. Grand Prize 1 will be for those who help us advertise the hop, and Grand Prize 2 will be for those who hop along with us. Also, we have 4 mini candy stops throughout the hop where you can enter to win a new release stamp! I'm not going to tell you where they are, so if you haven't found them you'll just have go back to the beginning and start hopping! *wink*

For my card I used the incredibly adorable 'Valerie's Spring Rain' and 'fancy bench', these are two seperate stamps so I had to mask off Valerie and her kitty and stamp the bench over to create this sweet little scene.
Both stamps are designed by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy.

I used my brand new Prismacolors for this image, my first time with them so will take a little more practice, particularly in the face which I did first, I was a little more confident by the time I coloured the wooden bench.    I used them rather like Copics blending in the darker shades with the lighter pencils and when all else failed I used a colourless blending pencil.  I bought the 72 pencil tin and am so happy with the range of colours.

For my project, I decided to make a book card.  I love these cards as they have plenty of room inside to add little pockets for treats and gifts!
I created a tutorial for the Whimsy Inspirations Blog last year so if you would like to see how they are made you can check it out here!
I thought the image was perfect for an 'under the weather' card so added tissues and lip balm along with a  matching bookmark, perfect to send to someone who is feeling a little unwell!

These are the amazing Postage Stamps designed by Ann Vento aka Raindrop Echo Designs and also using the new Whimsy Postage Stamp die to cut them out!

The back has my custom signature stamp also available from Whimsy Stamps!

The little matching bookmark also tucked inside the pocket.

So now it's time for you to continue the hop by hopping on over to Crystal's blog!

Finally, here is a complete blog hop list in hopping order:

Thank you so much for hopping with us today and I hope you enjoy the new releases!

Whimsy Sneak Peek!

Today I am sharing a sneak peek from the new selection of Whimsy rubber stamps which are to be released on Wednesday 9th February.
On Wednesday at 12 noon (EST) Whimsy Stamps will be holding a release party blog hop to which you are all invited, don't forget there will be many opportunities to win these stamps and believe me, you will want them all!
Today we are sneaking peeks at the stamps designed by Ann Vento, aka Raindrop Echo Designs, she absolutely amazes me with her talent for designing creative ways with sentiments. As soon as I saw these stamps I knew I had to have both sets, they are 'Postage Stamps' and 'Birthday Postage Stamps' and I used almost all of the stamps on this creation.  Only showing a sneak peek for today though, you will need to come back on Thursday to see the rest!  There are lots of bits inside to show so lots of photos!
I also have something completely different to share with you on Wednesday so don't forget to pop back then!
*****************
Along with the fabulous new stamps released this week are 2 new dies, one I used here, the 'Postage Stamp Die', it is an essential tool to go hand in hand with these stamps, it cuts out the stamps perfectly!
If you want to see the rest of the sneak peeks for today pop across to visit

I hope you will pop back here on Wednesday during the release Blog Hop!
