I am really enjoying making these.  I am also working on some colouring for cards I need  but can't share them yet.

How perfect is the stamp I used, it is part of a set from Whimsy Stamps?

 I won this fantastic crafty bag in a silent auction for charity on Saturday night. I was so determined that I wasn't going to come home without it! It is fantastic, has a little of everything in there, so perfect for me!  It even came with a complete set of tools and I mean real tools, I now have my very own hammer, screwdrivers, wrench and some other things that I don't know the name of!

Stitchy Sunday!

I have been bitten by the sewing bug, sewing fabric that is!  Always a fan of stitching paper I finally put some fabric under my sewing machine this summer and discovered I love it maybe even more than stitching paper!

I found this needlebook tutorial on Nana Company blog and had to give it a try.

I did want to incorporate stamping somehow so I found this very appropriate stamp by Whimsy Stamps from the A Touch of Elegance stamp set

 The bonded by love stamp on the back is also Whimsy Stamps from the Friends and Family Mini Postage stamp set.

 I wanted to make this a little sewing kit rather than just a needle book so thought the addition of the thread would be useful.  I will also add some needles.

 If you want to make one you should check the tutorial but here are some pics in progress.

 The patchwork on the back is so fiddly but so worth it I feel!

I knew this sassy young miss would be perfect for a teenage bookmark!

She is Whimsy Stamps Texting Diva coloured with Prismacolor pencils and I have used the Just my Type sentiment letters also from Whimsy Stamps.

The papers I used are MME Paris & Co. 6x6.

Just back from a whirlwind trip to Vegas.  Our eldest prefers to fly out of Vegas back to college so we decided to take a couple of days to catch some shows before school is back.

Here is my table tonight (Tuesday) showing how we left it on Sunday!  Another shirt pocket for me to stitch on and the fabrics at the back are what I picked up last week for a little project or 2 I have in my mind!  Also, some scrummy buttons we picked up at Jo-Anns on Saturday.  My daughter now loves Jo-Anns so I am sure we will have a shopping trip there when she is back for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

 One of the main reasons for our visit to Vegas (other than seeing our big girl off to college)!  We love the Cirque shows so we saw this one on Sunday night.  This is probably one of my favourite Cirque shows.  My absolute favourite was the Elvis one which sadly closed last year just after we saw it!

 The other show we saw was the Blue Man Group which we promised our youngest boy we would come back to see when we couldn't squeeze it in earlier in the summer. Have to say it was such a fun show and he absolutely loved it!

Donkey and friends

This card is made with another of the Whimsy Stamps July release stamps, I used

Donkey and friends by Crissy Armstrong and Contest Ribbons by Raindrop Echo Designs. 

I love that these sentiment stamps work together to create a contest ribbon but they are also versatile enough to use them in other ways!

The circle sentiment was cut out using the Contest Ribbons Die Set.

Papers used are Cosmo Cricket 'Togetherness' and enamel dots are by MME!

This is what is on my desk today!  

My daughter got a new embroidery machine (not the machine in the picture, that one is mine) a few weeks ago so she can make custom t-shirts.  She stitched the embroidery on this pocket and I am stitching the pocket on the t-shirt.  This will be the first of many as she wants to make them for her friends in college too!

She heads back to college next week.  I am going to miss my crafting BFF, have so enjoyed sharing my craft room with her this summer!

For those of you who enjoy the seeing the hummingbird photos here is a little movie I made!  We have so many of them visiting the feeders now, it gets a little crazy out there.  See for yourself!

The feeder was almost empty but not quite, I refreshed it right after this and it was gone within a day!

Here is my brand new colouring desk!  I so love it!  I want to sit here all the time!

I gave my craft room a major overhaul last week and decided I needed 2 more desks to sit in front of each window.

 The BEFORE photo.......

 I also re-organized my shelves and had to buy a few more pretty boxes, now all labelled!

 My 2 new Ikea desks.  One for colouring and one for stitching!  The table is completely cleared and has a lovely white cloth on to keep it all white and bright!  

 Look at these yummy vintage sewing bits and pieces I picked up at an Estate sale last week.  Love finding these gorgeous treasures!
