I have gone for hot weather as that is what I am hoping for!  The image I used is
I made another bag for a teacher's gift and thought this image would be so appropriate to give as they break up for Summer!
The bag is very much the same design as the one I made last week for another Teacher.  These are so quick and  easy to make I may be making more for the other Teachers the kids get occasionally through the school year!
Used the same quote as last time too!

a little more embellishment though as this one is a female teacher!
other challenges I am entering this into
and

Whimsy Sneak Peek!

Here is my sneak peek of the soon to be released Whimsy Rubber Stamps! They will be available for purchase on Wednesday 13 April!
Today we are sneaking peeks at the Kenny K designed stamps.
I used 'Cheers Dude' for my card and also added the 'Cheers to You' sentiment from the Party Mini Letter Seals.

The papers I used are Basic Grey Wander.  The die cuts are Tim Holtz, Stampin Up and the arrows are created on the Cricut.
I used the fabulous sketch over on Inspirational Card Sketches.  The challenge on Kenny K's Krafty girls challenge is to use Spicy colours.
I coloured my image with Prismacolor Pencils and copics.
The sentiment stamps inside are also from this new release, the 'Everyday mini postage stamp sentiments' are so cute and have a new matching die to cut them out!

Cute Card Thursday - Totally Tropical

You can find my Whimsy help for Japan blog hop HERE

The theme on Cute Card Thursday this week is
Totally Tropical
hunt out your summer stamps and images or use lovely tropical colours!
I have used this adorable digital image by Mo Manning. He is Jeffy with his bucket and shovel. AT the moment he is only in the old store but hopefully they will get him moved over soon!
Cute Card Thursday is sponsored this week by
Make it colourful this week asked us to
Make it Bright!
I don't usually do bright so I had to force myself to make this bucket yellow and use these busy papers!
I used Copics and Prismacolor pencils to colour this cutie!
Make it colourful is being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this week you can win 5 of their digital images!
Because I have used yellow I can enter this into the
DYSU challenge this week!
Also entering Delightful challenges which this week want to see Sun, Sea and Sand!

I made a gift bag for my son to give to his teacher at the end of the school year so I wanted to make it a summery themed bag as well as a thank you.  As his teacher is a man I kept the embellishments to a minimum but also because by the time he hands it over all the embellishments would have fallen off ( I am thinking after being swung around the playground, crushed up against the rucksack etc) I need it to be fairly robust!
The cute sentiment stamps are from Whimsy stamps!

I found this quote online the author is unknown but I thought it perfect! I will probably make a little matching tag for it sometime soon! I fancied it up in Word with some different fonts and quite like it!
Now I need to make one for my daughter's teacher!  Shame they don't put twins in the same class!

Hope you can play along with this week at CCT, please drop by and check out the rest of the DT and their fabulous creations!
Thank you for dropping by!

WOYWW

I finished a card last night and tidied up afterwards which is why it is looking reasonably tidy today!
You can just see the back of the card I made yesterday standing up next to the scissor pot!
The rest is for the card I need to get made today, then only have one more to make and that is next week sorted, it will be spring break here so I need to be organized ahead of time.
First though, I am off to the hairdressers so the card making will have to wait!
Hope you can all play along with WOYWW if you don't know what it is pop on over to Julia Dunnit's blog to get all the details!

Help for Japan Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to a very special blog hop today!
The illustrators of Whimsy Stamps have come together to draw a special set of digi images for the purpose of raising money for the relief effort in Japan.
All proceeds from the sale of these images will be donated to that cause.
Kenny K, Raindrop Echo Designs, Meljens Designs, and Crissy Armstrong all contributed art work.
For the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice)  by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site.  Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.
If you have landed here from Jackie's blog, you are right on track.  If you have come here randomly and would like to start hopping from the beginning, please go to Crissy's blog.   She has the blog rotation order posted if you need to refer to it.
The amazing ladies of two design teams have come together to host this blog hop for you!  Crissy's Crew from Sundays With Crissy and Denise's DT from Whimsy Stamps have joined forces to design some amazing jaw dropping creations for you.  You have seven days to hop through all the blogs and enjoy all the lovely creations from these talented people.
The hop runs from now through til Sunday April 10 at noon.
There will be several opportunities to win blog candy!
Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set.  So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi!  Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize!  The grand prize will consist of the entire digital set made just for this cause as well as a gift certificate donated by Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs worth 10$ to use at the Whimsy Stamps store! To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from my side bar or from the top of this post) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Crissy's post so we can be sure to find the winner.
Now on to my project:

I have used Meljen's Kimono Bear, coloured with Prismacolor pencils, and Raindrop Echo Designs Help for Japan sentiments in my project today.
I used the fabulous sketch at Meljens designs, I am entering Stamp Something 'digi day' with my digital image and sentiment and Cardmakin' Mamas where the challenge is Embellish it!
I used Basic Grey Wisteria papers and love the hanging wisteria paper so much I had to use it on the inside and not cover it up!

Next you'll want to visit Marley's Blog to continue hopping.  Thank you so much for stopping by, and for your support of this very worthy cause.

Less is More ~ sketch

Phew, it has been a busy week so far, I am convinced it is Thursday today so I keep panicking that I haven't done things!
Anyway, a nice quick and easy card for the less is more challenge this week, they gave us a fabulous sketch with a DL card size.  Actually, mine is a scaled down version as I have to make a few more of these for my youngest daughter's party.  She will most likely share the party with her twin brother as they generally choose to do but his invitations will have to be a bit more boyish.
I used my Stampin' Up set 'Tropical Party', love these stamps but it is the first opportunity I have had to use them! The flowers are popped up on 3d foam pads.  The You're invited stamp is a small pack of party stamps from Studio G.
gotta run, lots to catch up with....
thanks for dropping in!

WOYWW

Really, Wednesday again?  I only just realized when I spotted some other WOYWW in my blog list!
first I have to show you how my lovely papers from Emma's Paperie arrived the other day!
It was like receiving a gift, all wrapped up perfectly in tissue paper and a freebie roll of ribbon attached! Now that is service!

Onto my desk!  Got my pencils out to colour this very adorable digital  image from Whimsy Stamps designed by Melissa Jenkins

Above the pencils  is another layout in progress for my daughter's album, this is only number 3 so I really need to get into gear with it!  Only have 5 months left!  She really is growing up too fast, I thought I had lots of time before having to wave off my offspring but no, come September she is off to college in New York, blub, blub! All the more reason to have her album filled with special memories for her to take with her!
***************
***Edited to add***
the goodies inside the box from Emma's!

Okay, need to get cracking with my card.  If you want to join us in showing what you are working on today, pop over to Julia Dunnit's blog to see what it is all about!
Thanks for dropping by!

A spring card!

This is one my old sweet Sugar Nellie's designed by Elisabeth Bell, she is 'chick-a-dee' and unfortunately this stamp is now retired.
The sentiment ticket stamp is Whimsy Stamps 'Treasured Moments Tickets'
I used her with the Make it Crafty digi stamp 'petals and palings' from the secret garden collection!
They are coloured with prismacolor pencils.
I used the fabulous sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches for this one.  The image and colours are so perfect for the Stamp Something ~ spring somethings challenge!
Cardmaking Mama's challenge wants animals ~hope my little chickie counts!

The stamp on the inside is Whimsy Stamps 'Spring Letter Seals'

So glad it is Friday!  It seems to have been a long week!
2 of my favourite challenges are out tomorrow so I will be having a peek at them but don't know if I will get any crafting time this weekend.  Have to rearrange my eldest son's room after buying some new storage units (in the hope that he stops storing stuff under his bed)
Whatever you are doing this weekend, hope it is a good one!

Cute Card Thursday - Sketch by Me!

This week on Cute Card Thursday it is a sketch designed by yours truly!
It is a very basic sketch because I am very basic, but that makes it a nice easy one!
We are sponsored this week by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!
I used the sweet Mo Manning image 'What's Cooking' she was only $1 last week and all proceeds were to be sent to the relief aid in Japan, a very worthy cause! she raised £1000!  it was such a success that Mo will do another fundraising stamp!
I coloured this sweet image with Copics and Prismacolors and am entering this image into the
Make it Colourful challenge which is to blend green and yellow (as on her little pinny)

Although I opted not to make a book card for this one I still wanted to give the insides a good make over too!
I used one of my all time favourite papers Basic Grey 'Lily Kate'

I added this little tag for a challenge over on Colorful Creations my jeopardy square was to add a tag to my card!  The sweet postage stamp rubber stamp is by Whimsy Stamps from the Raindrop Echo Designs sentiment selection.

I used a variety of punches to create the flowers, leaves, butterflies, edges and corners.

I tried to make the back mirror the layout on the front.
My personalized stamp is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts!
Other challenges I am entering with this card are
Cutie Sunday ~ Spring Colours
A Spoonful of Sugar ~ ribbon, pearl/rhinestones and flowers
My Time to Craft ~ Ladies Day
Papertake Weekly ~ its a mom thing/ girly
Simon says stamp challenge, ~ mothers day/girly

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Wednesday again, already?
It is such a beautiful morning here, cold, crisp and sunny!
Today I am hoping to work on this card and have a nice quiet day as I know this evening is going to be crazy hectic, even more than it usually is!
Do you see my lovely new craft mat? it is so big compared to my other one, I love it!  My friend Kerys called me last week to ask if I wanted it picked up from TJMaxx, it was only $5!  What a bargain!
Jingle remarked last week that with my desk this way round there is room for a friend and how right she is! I did have that in mind so that Kerys could come to play but what was so lovely was my son and daughter joining me on Saturday to create!  Ethan created 4 fabulous cards which you can see on his blog.  Milly finished a card but she had to go out just as it was finished and she was giving it to the friend she was going with, glue still wet, so we didn't manage to get a photo of it!  She used the image she had coloured last week for Make it Colourful, we were so thrilled to discover yesterday that she had won!
