Osprey Day

Been AWOL lately due to a stinking cold, haven't even managed to do any crafting, that was how stinking it was! hOping to catch up tomorrow, got some lovely new stash today!!!!

Today we had a lovely day, thanks to everyone who sent cards, loved them all! We went to the R.S.P.B. osprey centre at Boat of Garten for the first time. Unfortunately, no chicks in nest this year, there had been eggs but for various reasons none had survived. Did see this osprey flying around and then sitting in the tree with a fish, we saw it quite well on a monitor indoors. Very interesting, if you are a bit of a twitcher like me! We will definitely be back and hope to see chicks next year!

The acorn shaped thing is the nest and you can see the osprey sitting in the tree just beneath the camera. You had to be there!

The deer returns....

I am sure it is the same one, back again, this time a little closer! I spotted it watching my wee dog Poppy in the garden. Then it watched me taking photos of it...again! It was only when my flash went off that it decided to leg it up the hill!

It is a Sika deer which is native to Asia and brought to the UK in 1860, if you are interested you can get more info here. They are a lot braver and cheekier than the native red deer.

Can you believe he stopped to have another look?

mid-week extra - fabulous

The DCM mid-week extra this week is the word Fabulous :

Just to keep you busy between dares we like to throw out a Little Extra challenge to tempt you with in the middle of the week, and this time we have a Word Challenge for you to play with. So the word we want you to take inspiration from this week is FABULOUS.

So I made this:

Blooming marvellous!

Started making this, it will be a little heritage book, hopefully containing pics of my ancestors, didn't get any further today as it turned into a glorious sunny afternoon so I felt the urge to cut grass, strim and take photos of the fab flowers below. I have no idea what they are so if you know please tell!

Had this mini book for ages it is a Colorbok mini scrapbook kit, the floral embellies are K & Co Grand Adhesions.

Sorry I did it again, wish there was a way of turning this around on here but can't find one so turn your heads please!

You're not the (em)boss of me

This is my first dare challenge, but think it could fit into the celestial category too!,

This is my card for the dcm challenge this week.

*Embossing.Dry embossing with a light box or with a die cutting machine.Using embossing powders or triple embossing.Using pre-embossed papers.Embossing with found items.Just have fun playing! And as I can't resist being a little (em)bossy - why not see if you can get more than one emboss technique on your card?*

I used Shapeboss embossing on Sizzix Little Sizzles card, hand embossed background, See D's greeting stamp and a Sandylion sticker. Stampendous embossing powder used on greeting for heat embossing.

On a chilly night...

we lit the fire tonight, the first time in ages, so the cherubs toasted marshmallows. Cosy!

A good day...

was had by all. My littlest cherubs got their 100 metre badges at swimming then it was off to the school fair. The rain held off and we came home with the usual amount of rubbish! I did buy a new teapot for £1 which will do until I can find a new lid for my fave teapot.

Look at this gorgeous sky, this was taken last night I was amazed at it, unfortunately the pics on here don't do it justice.

tgifriday

How stunning is this sky?

So glad its the end of the week, I'm pooped!

busy busy today cake, biscuit and soup making for tomorrow's school fair, and its gonna rain! We have been lucky so far today, it has stayed dry for us when most of the rest of the country has been having so much rain it has been flooding.

Anyway, some gorgeous pics taken the other night when the sky was just at its most gorgeously gorgeousness. Won't apologise for boring you with them cos I love them and want to see them every day!

Another card or 2 or 3.....

This one was made with papermania collossal paper pack papers, greeting made from See D's rtc stamp.

Brrr....its turned a bit chilly, probably not that bad its just that we have got so used to tropical temperatures over the past week. Anyway, good weather for staying indoors and crafting!

One stamp 2 different cards!

This is one I made a few weeks ago using a clarity stamp, I absolutely love them, they are so easy to use. The background paper is from DCWV old world stack.

Look what we saw

This buzzard came hovering overhead yesterday......love living in the country!
This cheeky deer came so close to our garden at the weekend, very unusual for summertime. It wasn't at all bothered that I was standing taking photos of it, after eyeing me up it continued its grazing!

smashed to smithereens

Wanted-imperial blue denby lid! My gorgeous teapot is ruined, the lid jumped down from the kitchen bench and shattered. This is my second denby teapot that is now lidless! :(
