sugar bowl challenge ~ Easter bag

Here is my boy's Easter bag, this time made with the adorable Hamish from Sugar Nellie, this stamp is called 'Lambing Time'.

AS I have used only one piece of patterned DP this project fits perfectly in The Sugar Bowl challenge! Double sided paper is allowed!

I have hidden these bags away as my youngest DD had been eyeing up these choccies on my desk so they will get these on Easter Sunday. I need to make 2 suitable for teenagers next!

Cute Card Thursday ~ Signs of Spring!

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday this week is

Signs of Spring!

I don't know about you but I am enjoying seeing the first signs of spring, the daffodils are just beginning to sprout (after being buried in snow for a week!). It is quite mild this week but I hear that it won't last and another cold spell is on it's way, oh well, enjoy while it lasts!

I decided to make a little Easter treat as I always think of Easter when I think of spring! As soon as my fabulous Whiff of Joy Spring kit arrived I knew I had to make a sweet girly one, I am busy making a boyish one too which I will share tomorrow!

I used instructions from the Scor-pal projects site, it is so amazing there, you can find allsorts of fabulous creations. This one is the Halloween Treat Bag, it is so easy to make!

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I used a velcro fastener to keep mine together in the hope that it doesn't get completely destroyed when it is opened!

multi challenge card

I think I have managed to make this card to fit into three challenges! I used Debbie's fab sketch on Spoonful of Sugar, the recipe from Whiff of Joy Challenge and added wire to fit into the Arty Girlz challenge!
The recipe was 3 papers, 2 flowers and 1 button/brad. My 3rd paper is inside as is my 2nd flower. The button is under the metal flower centre, I had to put that on top as the wire coming out the button looked a bit untidy. You have to look quite closely to see the wire but it is around the flower centre!

I made this card for friday sketchers the sketch this week was designed by Heidi from Norway!

I hope they don't mind but I had to move the flowers as they wouldn't fit in properly as per the sketch.

I was sent this fabulous cute stamp, 'Pajama Time Emma' from Denise of Whimsy Stamps this week and I couldn't wait to use it, she is so adorable and she stamped and coloured a dream!

Okay, you might be wondering why I made this card for a music and dance theme. We decided to open the theme up a little by including song titles as sentiments.....see where I was going?

As soon as I saw this sweet image from Sugar Nellie called 'come fly with me' (could have used that song title too!) designed by Mary Hall and available here I just couldn't stop singing 'lets go fly a kite', are you all humming along now, if you don't know the song have a look here I guarantee you will be singing along!

tilda and friends ATC - hearts and Whiff of Joy news

Here is my ATC for the Tilda and friends ATC challenge. The theme this week is hearts!

I immediately thought of this Whiff of Joy stamp 'Melinda blowing kisses' from the Guardian Angels collection. I don't swap ATCs so I am sure this will become something else soon, I am thinking of adding it to the inside of a card for decoration! There are so many things you can do with these and they are so quick to make! Why don't you check out the challenge yourself?

Sugar Bowl Challenge - Love and Romance

Here is my entry to the Sugar Bowl Challenge the theme is Love and Romance!I decorated a box of chocolates for a Valentines gift, decided to keep with the traditional pink this time, so if hubby doesn't like it, all the more choccy for me!!!
I wrapped each choccy up individually and added a punched out flower and words I printed out!

Another angle to show the depth. colours are rubbish, it looks so much better in real life, it was either too bright with the snow or the second lot I took using a flash, either way wasn't working well!
The colours are slightly more realistic in this one as laying it down seemed to avoid the snow glare!
The image is the very sweet 'Luvvie' from Sugar Nellie.

The original chocolate box, full of scrummy choccies! Wasn't this box just crying out to be covered in pretty paper?

friday sketchers - partridge in a pear tree

I made this card using the brilliant sketch over at Friday Sketchers designed by Carole. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew it would be perfect for this image that has been waiting to be coloured for ages. The image is 'Partridge in a pear tree' designed by Elisabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie. It is quite a large stamp so is on a 7x6" card and even then takes up most of it! I tried various flowers and other embellishments with it but decided in this instance that less is more...not a phrase you hear me say very often!!!

The flock lace was a christmas pressie from DH, thought he did very well choosing that, love it!

The sketch is upside down, I didn't do it on purpose but found after sticking the backing down that I had put it on upside down, thankfully it still works!

a very simple inside, wasn't sure about these embossed trees at first but they look great as a little inside decoration.
