WOYWW

Well, what a week it has been.  Last week we had a couple of days of snow (thankfully all gone now) and then when we were having very calm weather it was very strange watching the horrific effects of hurricane Sandy over on the East coast!
Hope those without power have it restored very soon and that you are all safe.
Today I have been catching up with some crafty goodness.  Got a couple of coloured images on my desk and a whole lot of bits and pieces from previous creations.  Time for a good tidy up!
Last week some WOYWWers asked to see my Halloween decorating.  Here is some of it, I got this idea from a magazine....I may have overdone the cobwebs!
When we moved in this year this mantel already had all these hooks under, they are beginning to prove useful!  I have just bought a whole load of baubles to put under there for Christmas too!
OH, and don't worry neither the fire nor the candles will be lit while decorated like this!
for more nosing go along to Julia's blog where you will a whole list of WOYWWers and maybe you will be tempted to play along!

WOYWW

Yesterday I wished someone a good weekend, I already thought it was Thursday, Monday was obviously a hard week!
So, as it is Wednesday although not really (are you still with me?) here is my work space(s).
First my messy desk full of bits for making Christmas cards, to be shared another day....
and my little table in front of the window where I prefer to work!
I haven't used flowers on my cards in ages and not really sure I like them anymore, not satisfied with the cards I put together but no time to change them, I was already on a tight deadline!
Don't you hate that?
must hurry along, lots to do, still haven't dug out the Halloween decorations so I have to venture into the depths of the basement among the not yet unpacked boxes and try to retrieve the tubs containing all our spooky stuff!
If you want to see more desks or other work spaces (anything goes here) then pop over to  Julia's blog for deets!

Cute Card Thursday - got glitter

As promised my Halloween mini I made at the retreat last weekend.
Seeing as I got coated in glitter from all the glittery papers in the MME Lost and Found Halloween pack I used  ( a steal I picked up at Steal.com) I decided it would fit perfectly into this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge
Got Glitter?
We are sponsored this week by Stamp Fairy
I pre-prepared all my shaped pages prior to the retreat and painted them all in black acrylic paint.
I drew the windows and door by hand and cut them out, all very time consuming but fun!
The pumpkins, crows, cat  and bat are rub-ons.
The fence is a Whimsy Stamps die.

I supplemented my MME papers and embellishments with some from Authentique, the phrases were particularly appropriate.

 some close ups!

there it is, quite a project, took me almost all of the free crop time we had on the retreat!  So worth it though, I loved making it!  I am going to have to start on my December Daily, think mini's are my new thing!
Thank you for dropping by!

WOYWW

I am not showing my own desk today for WOYWW but the desk I had at the retreat I was at on Saturday.  It is far more interesting! Anyway, my own desk is piled high with stuff to put away from the retreat!
On Saturday morning we were all working on this cute mini album designed by Kristy Lee for WRMK.
Here is the stash I bought at the Steals.com warehouse sale.  We were given a tour and then lots of shopping time!  I didn't need long to grab this little lot!
After shopping we made this mini Halloween accordion album. The class was by American Crafts.
Unfinished, will show the inside again when I get it completed.
The WRMK album.
KC from MME played some trivia games and challenged us to come up with a quick layout.
The busy, bustling room!
apologies for such a long post but it isn't every week I am on a retreat!  I finished the Halloween album I showed the very beginnings of last week and will show it Thursday (lots of pics) so come back then if you would like to see the finished article!
if you would like to see more desks or join in visit Julia's blog for details.

WOYWW

Hopefully I am posting this on the correct day of the week, seeing as I post Whats on your workdesk Wednesday on a Tuesday evening, it is easy to see where I become confused.  Not helping is the fact I have no idea where I am this week!  I am off to a scrapping retreat on Friday so I don't have the usual amount of days to work with this week, I don't know why that throws me but it does!
So, onto my desk, a template for a Halloween album, doesn't look much now but hopefully after working on it this coming weekend it should be spooktacular!
Also doing today, some stitching of paper, my favourite kind of stitching!  This is for the inside of a card I am making for Thursday's Cute Card Thursday.
If you want more details on WOYWW pop on over to Julia's blog.  I am off to pack up my craft supplies for a weekend of scrapping heaven!
Thanks for dropping by!

Jammin'

A few weeks ago Whimsy Stamps paired up with the State Line Bag Company to try out their muslin bags.
These are high quality, ready made up bags with a draw string top.
You can stamp on them with a variety of different inks depending on whether you want the bags to be washable.  For washable I would recommend using Stazon or similar.  Mine is a gift bag to hold some of my homemade strawberry jam so I didn't need it to be washable.  I stamped with Memento black ink and it worked perfectly.  The fabric took my prismacolor pencils well too. To make the strawberry seeds I placed a dotty embossing folder under before colouring.
The stamps I used here are

Cute Card Thursday - Lotsa ribbon!

Over at Cute Card Thursday this week our theme is
Lotsa ribbon
We would love to see you use ribbon on your creations!
I couldn't resist making these minis when I spotted these ones created by Gro earlier this week!
I think these are so cute and just perfect for Halloween party invitations. I made them all in no time at all which is the way I like party invites to come together!

I didn't even have to cut into any of my designer paper to make these, I simply cut up the front sheet in the pack, they were the perfect size!
As you can see I used My Mind's Eye Mischievous a recent steal from Scrapbook Steals!
The words are from Authentique Glowing collection also from Scrapbook Steals and the brads are Martha Stewart.
Our sponsors over at Cute Card Thursday this week are Little Darlings Rubber Stamps who are offering a $10 gift certificate for their store.
Thanks for dropping by!
