Wednesday means time for Whats on your workdesk Wednesday?
Although I learned to knit as a child and used to do a lot, I have abstained largely over the past 12 years in favour of papercrafting!
Visiting blogs has reignited the desire to stick 2 large needles under my arms and come up with something woolly and useful!
So, my first make is a dishcloth. I know, not terribly exciting but just look at the patterns I have been downloading! A summer garment, a lacy shawl and some baby booties.
I am going to make one more Christmas dishcloth before I venture into the complex world of garments as I plan to make up at least 2 Christmas themed baskets and add one to each.
How organized am I? Planning Christmas already!
Also, on my desk this week, some photos I am still sorting through for layouts and a pack of clear stamps I picked up from TJ Maxx for only 70 cents!
What are you up to this Wednesday? If you would like to join this merry band pop on over to Julia's blog for more details!
I am off to hunt out my old knitting patterns and when I say old, I do mean vintage! Will share them next week if I can find them!

Yay, she picked up the needles again! Amazing you're planning Christmas already but I like your idea of adding the dishcloths to the baskets. Socks are actually really easy, they just look intimidating. I'm not ready for garments yet, but I really do like the look of some of the lace shawls that are out there. Ravelry is superb for patterns, they have a forum I think too, but I'm registered on Knitting Help Forum instead. Lots of help if you need it, free how to videos and free patterns too. There's a paid for section also. Can't believe how cheap those stamps were, and that's a lot of photos you've got ready!!

Good luck with the knitting. I can barely remember how, I think I can remember plain and purl and thats it. I remember knitting shopping bags for some reason?????

Looks like you have a lot going on there, Deb! Good for you! I used to knit a long time ago. Maybe I'll pick it up again sometime. ;)
What the heck! 70 cents! WOW. It's been a long time since I have seen that price! Beautiful colors you have chosen for your dishcloths!

You're knitting!!! The Christmas colours look lovely, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the more complex patterns as well :) Jealous of your stamp bargain - don't think I'd find anything like that at TK Maxx here...:)
Wait. What? TJMaxx has stamps? I'm outta here!! Thanks for that little FABULOUS tidbit of information! Great job on the dishcloth all festive in Christmas colors!
Thanks for the visit to the Playhouse! Have a wonderful week with your new additional hobby!! Darnell #46
You got stamps at TJ Maxx? Who knew?

You are always so fun and crafty my friend! :)
Congrats on picking up the needles again Deb!! I use to knit as a child and teen as well and since having the girls...that is no more. Maybe some day. I am teaching the girls but just not enough time to do it all. It would be fun though!
Congrats on working so far ahead for Christmas!! You go girl!!
hugs,
Chris
